General Notes & Exemptions
- * Gap of Practice: All experience must be in compliance with the Discontinuity of Practice (Gap of Practice) criteria.
- ¹ UAE Graduates Exemption: Graduates of UAE Dental Universities are exempted from the required experience for the title of Specialist.
Tier 3 Consultant Criteria (Pre-June 2017)
Dentists enrolled in a recognized Tier 3 program before June 2017 may apply for the title of consultant providing the below criteria are met:
- Certificate must be issued by a Tier 3 country that do not issue higher qualifications (UAE nationals and Children of Emirati women excluded).
- Submitting proof of completing studies and obtaining a fellowship or additional qualification in the field of specialization for a minimum duration of one year.
- Submitting a Good Standing Certificate during previous work experience.
- Must not have been subjected to a ruling or disciplinary decisions during the last Five (5) years.
- Provide licensed experience with the title "Specialist" of at least 10 years in a hospital or multi-specialty clinics within UAE.
- Work in a Supervisory position for the last two years.
- Evidence of having two (2) research publications over the past ten years in accredited "indexed" scientific journals.
- Two recent letters of recommendation.
- For surgical specialties: A copy of the surgical logbook for the last 5 years is required.
